With 10 out of the 14 barangays of Sta. Magdalena having some numbers on the Surrendering Drug Users (SDUs) list and eventually cleared from the drug problem, all the 10 barangays were finally declared Drug Clear Barangays, thus Sta. Magdalena was declared the 1st Municipality in the Bicol Region to be Drug Cleared by PDEA, attested by the Provincial Government, PNP and DILG. The award was given simultaneous with the GGK Awarding Ceremony.
