A total of 123 Busainganon college students will benefit from the educational assistance payout happening today, February 8, 2024, at LGU Santa Magdalena Covered Court.
The activity is one in a series of payouts across the Second District by the Office of Cong. Wowo Fortes, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).
According to Cong. Fortes, the payout was supposed to happen on December last year but was slated for this year due to some necessary adjustments.
The beneficiaries sent their applications to his District Office, which was consolidated with the help of DSWD.
Cong. Fortes gave assurance that there will be another round for the assistance, as thousands of students across the Second District already benefited from it.
The event was also graced by the presence of Municipal Councilors, led by Hon. Norbie Forte on behalf of Municipal Mayor Hon. Mark Jewery Lozano, together with other Councilors Hon. Natalio Gaton, Hon. Gina Correa, and Hon. Antonio Frilles.
As a message to the student beneficiaries, Cong. Fortes iterated the importance of education.
"Edukasyon an makadanon sa iyo, basta magpursige. An pakihuron ko sa iyo, seryosoha an pag-eskwela. Dire madali... pero tiyaga-tiyaga lang."
